Let's Spin a Hotlist Once you have gathered a few links, you are ready to create a Filamentality page. The Hotlist is the easiest format to make and the starting point for all of the other formats. This page helps you complete your Hotlist and prepare to post it on the Web. This is your opportunity to customize your Hotlist by adding a title, an introduction, and sorting your links.
Add Your Title Your title can be creative, descriptive, or simply the subject/grade you teach. You can come back and edit this later.
Add Your Introduction Feel free to edit, delete, or add to the default text to let your students know what they can expect from this page or activity. This is where you can provide specific assignment instructions, due dates, background info you think is necessary. Take advantage of this opportunity to create your own unique text.
Categorize Your Links You can organize your links into sub-sections making it easier for your users to locate appropriate sites. If you don't categorize your links, they will appear under the default heading "Internet Resources." Categorized links will appear underneath.
You can hide links and keep them from appearing on your webpage by clearing or "deselecting" the checkboxes below. A cleared checkbox means the link is deselected and will not appear in your webpage. A check in the box means that users will see the link. For example:
Finalize Your Hotlist As always, nothing is saved until you click on the Navigation Menu. In this instance, you would click on "Hotlist" to post your website and get your URL.
