GTECH Foundation

Education represents GTECH's largest giving area and there is a dual focus on higher education and K-12 public education. As in all areas of giving, the Company supports programs that help diverse groups. Contributions to K-12 public education focus on programs which:

Bring computer technology into the classroom;
Provide training to teachers and students;
Encourage parental involvement;
Afford young people experience in international commerce; and
Promote cultural sensitivity.

A K-12 district or individual teacher is eligible.

Deadline: Grant applications are accepted from November 1 through December 31, 2003. Funding would begin around late March, 2004.

 

Toyota TIME

Toyota's Investment In Mathematics Excellence (TIME) is a grant awarding teachers up to $10,000 for innovative projects that enhance mathematics education within a school. Toyota TIME grant proposals should demonstrate creativity and emphasize innovative ways of teaching mathematics or assessing student learning.

Proposed projects should reflect an active approach to learning and be visionary in quality with activities designed to foster student excellence in mathematics.

Deadline: The deadline for the receipt of proposals is January 7, 2004.


American Honda Foundation

Honda Foundation offers large grants of 10K-100K to projects with a focus on math, science, the environment, and technology. The grant projects that are most desirable to the foundation have the following characteristics: dreamful (imaginative), scientific, creative, humanistic, youthful, innovative, foresightful (forward thinking).
