Here are some links to get you started using the power of the Internet to find the information you need.

The Internet Resources

General

42 Explore - This is a subject index that will give you 4 good sites on whatever topic you search. It covers music, health, social studies, science, etc.
Awesome Library forTeens - This site organizes the information by subject area.
BJ Pinchbeck's Homework Helper - There are great links here for almost every curriculum area.
Franklin Institute Online - This is a wonderful lists of links on science topics along with health, math, education, writing & composition, history & geography, art careers music, and more
Homework Central from Fact Monster - This site has great links for most subject areas.
Homework Spot - Go to the middle school section along the left side of the screen and click on the subject you need.
How Stuff Works - Click on a category at the top and find great facts on how computer, auto, science, home, electronic, entertainment, health, money, travel, and people stuff works.
Internet Public Library Teen Space - Click on a subject for a list of related links or type in your topic for more specific links.
Kid Info - This is a directory of links to sites organized by subject area. There are also links for reference sites, ask-an-expert, and fun.
Librarians' Index to the Internet - This site provides wonderful links on a wide variety of topics.
Multnomah County Library Homework Center - This is a large collection of links to helpful sites that have been evaluated by the librarians at the Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon.
Occupational Outlook Handbook - This is a great place to find information on careers. Click on the type of career on the right to get a list of jobs.
Ready Reference & Quick Facts - This site from the Librarians' Index to the Internet will lead you to a variety of great reference sites.

Social Studies

American Memory - This site from the Library of Congress provides primary source material related to the history and culture of the United States.
Ancient Egypt - This has great information from the British Museum.
Ben's Guide to U.S. Government - This is a great site organized by grade level.
Countries of the World from Fact Monster - The following information is given for each country: Geography • Maps • Flag • History • Current ruler • Area • Population • Capital • Largest cities • Languages • Ethnicity/race • Religion • Literacy rate • Economy • Government
Daily Life in Ancient Greece - This site was created by teachers. It's got good information.
Eyewitness to History - This site presents history through the eyes of those who lived it from the ancient world to today provided by Ibis Communications, Inc.
History For Kids - This is a great site about the middle ages.
Life in the Middle Ages - This is a look at 'European life in Medieval Times'.
Medieval Europe - This site will help you understand what life was like for knights, nuns, peasants, and merchands living in medieval Europe.
Mr. President - You will find information on our nation's leaders.
The American Presidency - This site has loads of information about the President of the United courtesy of the Smithsonian Institution's AmericanHistory Museum. You'll find interactive activities on many topics, including the roles of the presidency and extensive resources.
The World Fact Book - Select a country from the drop down menu to give you wonderful geographic and historical information from the CIA.

Frank Potter's Science Gems - These are science resources sorted by topic and grade level.
Star Child: A Learning Center for Young Astronomers - This site contains two sections. One is for elementary students. One is for middle school students.
The World's Biomes - This is an introduction to the major biomes on earth.

Math - Music - Art

AAA Math - This is a great place for learning and practicing math skills by topic or grade level.
Artyfacts - You will learn about artists and enjoy some fun activities.
Ask Dr. Math - You can browse questions that students have asked along with the answers.
Create a Graph - This site will help you create graphs to communicate information visually.
Essentials of Music - This site contains basic information about classical music including eras and composers.
Fact Monster Biographies of Famous Artists - This contains information on a large number of artists.
Multiplication Tutorial - This site will teach you the facts, quiz you, and give you multiplication games to play.
Music Education at Data Dragon - You can learn about musical instruments, types of music, how to read music,and more at this site.
The Artist's Toolkit - You can explore the tools that artists use to create works of art. You will work with line, color, and balance.There is an encyclopedia of art terms.
The Music Room - This is a good site for learning about music.

Language Arts/Spanish

11 Rules of Writing - Click on 'the rules' to see an explanation of each rule. If you would like examples, click on each rule.
Copyright Kids - This site will give students, parents, and teachers the information needed to legally use parts of copyrighted material.
Homework Central English Links - This is a fantastic group of links on everything from punctuation to writing, spelling, literature, and poetry.
Rhyme Zone - If you are writing a poem, this site will help you find just the right word.
Social Issues Research Sites - This hotlist gives you sites to visit on a wide variety of social issues topics.
