Virtual Reference Library - The VRL is a subject-based, reliable, internet directory (with a focus on Canadian and Ontario information).Built by a partnership of librarians in Ontario,it was begun by the Toronto Public Library in 1999.This link also gives students access to the Ottawa Public Library's resources. For some O.P.L. resources an O.P.L. card is required.

Carrot2 Clustering Engine - A new,helpful metasearch-type engine.This clustering engine organizes your results into topics.
Debbie Abilock's ' Noodle Tools' - Wonderfully helpful site that gives dozens of types of research or questions that you may need to investigate and then points to great sources appropriate to each.
Google - Most popular all-round search engine. However, it is not to be used solely, especially at the senior level.Senior students should use Google Scholar as well.
Google Directory - Google's listing of the best sources for various topics. A directory ...not a search engine !

Multnomah County Library Homework Site - Fabulous site to help you do your work in many subjects !!!
SCIRUS - for scientific information only - The most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet. A 'must' for senior science students !
The Invisible Web ( aka The Hidden Web , The Deep Web) - Incredibly helpful site to help you access the body of web information (maybe 500 times larger than the fixed,static web) that regular search engines do not search and index.
