• National Information Center on Children and Youth with Disabilities - This website offers information on specific disabilities in both English and Spanish. Tips are given for teachers and parents. This is a great link to find other resources and organizations related to specific disabilities.

• National Center for Learning Disabilities - Provides information about learning disabilities and links to other helpful sites.

• The Council for Exceptional Children - This site offers professional development and training resources for teachers.

• I Can: Helping Children Communicate - Printable information and strategy sheets are available for working with children with speech and language difficulties. Although for the UK, there are some very helpful information sheets

• Autism Society - Information about Autism and links to resources, events, and research.

• Teaching Children with Autism - Information on teaching strategies for children with autism as well as links to other resources.

• Nonverbal Learning Disabilities - This site offers information about Nonverbal Learning Disabilities, assessment, intervention, and training opportunities.

• Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder - This website connects you with the organization CHADD which provides fact sheets, links, and other resources related to AD/HD.

• California Department of Education Special Education Division - This website provides a link to a database of special education laws.

• Contra Costa County Office of Education Special Education Local Plan Area - This website contains local information, training opportunities, and resource information.

• Parents Helping Parents - This website offers help for parents of children with disabilities.

• IEP Process - This site provides information about special education and the referral process. It also provides other great resources for teachers. Some of the information is free but to gain access to all of the information, there is a small fee.

• Individuals with Disabilities Education Act - This site provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about IDEA.

• Bad Wolf Press - This website offers great musical programs that are easy to put together, cover many content areas, and come with a set of directions, a script, and a cd with the background music! They are very reasonably priced and cover grades K-9.

• Teachers' Curriculum Institute - This website offers information on hands-on programs for history and social studies. The lessons range from elementary to high school level.

• Memory Joggers for Multiplication and Division Facts - Don't just keep teaching the way students aren't learning. Give students a way to memorize these facts. This website has a wonderful and inexpensive program that really works for all students who have difficulty with rote memorization.

• Don't Laugh at Me (Character Education Program) - This website offers free curriculum for character education lessons. There is also a video and cd with some of the songs from the program.

• Maps for Your Classroom - Free printable world maps are available at this site. In addition to maps, you can also see the flags of the United States and other countries.

• Rubrician - This site offers rubrics for writing assignments. You can even create your own to print.

• The Math Channel - Rachel McAnallen is absolutely the best math guru around. This website allows you to view several videos of her presentations as well as order products. You can also subscribe to receive other video presentations. This is a must for anyone that teaches math.

• Freedom Scientific Software - This website features software to enhance reading, writing, and productivity.

• Keyboard Alternatives & Vision Solutions - This website offers many alternative keyboards, visual enhancement equipment, and accessories for people with disabilities.

• Paraeducator Training - This site contains information about paraeducator training and trainers for the state of Virginia. However, it is useful because it also gives the objectives and information about their training.
