Introduction

Aristotle once stated:
'In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.'

I believe that we must remember this quote when we look at endangered species. I chose to research the Green Sea Turtle, an endangered species who is being killed for its oils, skin, and meat. There were once several million green sea turtles worldwide. Today, however, there are only less than 200,000 nesting females alive. When I discovered what exactly was being done to the Green Sea Turtles, I decided to create a web-page about these marvelous creatures and include links to other websites that highlight the abuses being incurred on the turtles by humans and what measures are being taken to save them from extinction. I feel it is important to recognize what is happening so that we can work to make a difference.

As Aristotle also said, 'Nature does nothing uselessly.' While humans are needlessly killing these animals, we do not realize the valuable impact they have on our society. By eliminating one species, we affect all of the other species – including, yes, humans.

So please take a look at the links I have compiled and keep in mind that YOU can do something about the current problem.

Thank You!
Pilar
