• A Celebration of Women Writers - Good source for materials on women writers. Many links include bibliographies for locating additional information.

• Authors, writers and poets on the web - A collection of writers and information about their works. This page was created by high school students to assist other high school students.

• A Study of Caribbean Women Writers - Includes information on writing movements and writers in the Caribbean as well as links to related sites.

• Gale Biography Resource Center - Biographical information on your authors. Indepth coverage of their lives and writings.

Indepth Criticism

• Internet Public Library online Literary Criticisms - Great site for almost all authors. Well indexed by author name, time periods and locations.

• Gale Student Resource - Silver - This database provides reference sources, magazine, newspaper and multimedia materials in one easy search.

• SIRS Knowledge Source Database - The SIRS Renaissance database can provide information on writers and their works.

• Scribner's Writers Series - This is the mother lode of information both biographical and critical about authors and their works.

African and Latin American Authors

• Latino/Latin American Literature - A collection of information about contemporary Latino and Latina authors, with an emphasis on specific authors and literary criticism

• The Best of Caribbean Writing - Brief summaries of books by Caribbean authors and links to author biographies.

• African Studies - Columbia University's African Studies page provides information on African literature and writers.

European Authors

• Irish Literature, Mythology, Folklore and Drama - If your author is Irish this is your one stop jackpot of information on everything Irish. Includes author information, general Irish history and so much more.

• Russian Authors - This site covers four well know Russian authors; Pushkin, Gogol, Tolstoy and Block. Although it is limited to these authors the materials located here are excellent.
