Introduction
The purpose of this Web page is to give you an opportunity to investigate the ideas that make simple machines. Each of the activities asks you to research the different types of simple machines. You will answer questions using information found on a web page. You will also create tables and charts with organized information. There is a quiz for you to take when you complete all your background work.

When you finish the background information, create a powerpoint presentation about the 'stuff' you just learned. Your PowerPoint should include the following list:
A title page
A description of simple machines--what are they, how do they help us, etc.
A slide for each of the following 'machines:'
Lever
Inclined Plane
Wedge
Screw
Wheel and Axle
Pulley
Each slide should include:
A definition
The job the machine performs
A picture
Examples from the real world

Each student will be expected to present their information to the class. Students are encouraged to create a 5 question quiz regarding their presentation, to 'quiz' their audience.

You can print your PowerPoint into a book format by printing 2 slides to a page. Then cut the pages and staple them together for your Simple Machine's book.

Good Luck!! Have Fun!!
