Recycling is extremely important to our environment. It is important for us to do our part in the environment. Even though it might not seem like much, every little bit helps.
Your team has been assigned a specific role. You will use the links provided as well as other resources (library, etc) to become experts on recycling. Your group needs to get familiar with everyday ways that you can help recycle. Then you need to discuss as a group why recycling is important for our environment. At the end of the week, we will go around the class rooms and school grounds as a group and help our school environment. So be aware of things we can recycle!
While you are discussing these things, write down brief notes. When everyone is done, you are to tell the class what your group as come up with. The National Educational Technology Standards 1a) apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes 2d) contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems 3a) plan strategies to guide inquiry will be used.

You will have two classroom periods to finish this assignment. That should be more than enough time. Use what we have learned in class and the links provided.

Phase 3 - Reaching Consensus
Now that we have looked at all this information, think about these two questions: Do you think it is important to recycle? How can if affect our environment?
Recycling is extremely important to our environment. If everyone took some time to recycle in your community it could make a big difference. It is important to remember what we've learned about recycling and how to use it in our everyday life.
