This is your lucky day! You work for a travel agency and your boss wants to sell a new vacation package, 'Deserts of the World.' Before your company can begin to offer the package, your boss has approached you and two of your friends to take a trip of a lifetime. Your boss is sending you on an all expense paid trip to visit five different continents and learn about what makes deserts so unique. Your job is to bring back some artifacts and information to help show customers what they can expect to see on their trip. You can present your information in the form of a PowerPoint, Poster Board Display, Diorama, Artifact Collection or a Travel Brochure. Pack your sun screen, a warm blanket and a camera. Have fun exploring!
By the end of this WebQuest you can expect to have:
1) used the power of the Internet for advanced exploration; 3) learned information about key aspects of deserts around the world; 4) realize that complex topics can be looked at from various perspectives; 5) formulate and support an opinion based on your roles; and 6) work with teammates to determine a combined action plan.
