| This website tells the story of the San Diego Kumeyaay (koo'-me-eye), a people who once roamed as far west as the Pacific Ocean, as far east as Palm Springs, approximately fifty miles south into Mexico, and as far north as Escondido. The Kumeyaay lived in harmony with nature, relying on the things that nature provided in order to survive including the water, animals and plants. | |||||||||||||||||
| We are creating an interactive game using Palace software to explore various aspects of the Kumeyaay lifestyle. Palace software makes it possible to schedule online events and invite students, teachers and others interested in Native American or California history to participate. By simulating the Kumeyaay lifestyle online, we hope to impart a sense of the culture of these first San Diegans. | |||||||||||||||||
